Hi, I’m Dr. Nicole Kumi,

PhD, PMH-C

Founder & CEO of

The Whole Mom.

I’m a mom, a coach, and a perinatal mental health professional who is passionate about supporting mothers during one of the most transformative—and often overwhelming—times in their lives.

My journey into this work began after I struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety. I knew firsthand how isolating and difficult it can feel when there isn’t enough support, education, or information about perinatal mental health. Like so many other mothers, I felt marginalized and responsible for my outcomes, often believing I was the only one going through it.

After navigating these challenges, I realized that the system was failing to address the mental health needs of new and expecting moms. That's why I created The Whole Mom—to provide the support, education, and validation that every mother deserves.

With a PhD in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior and certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), through Postpartum Support International, I have dedicated my career to helping women navigate the emotional, mental, and identity shifts that come with becoming a mother.

Through coaching, community programs like The Fourth Trimester, and heart-centered offerings like our Butterfly Boxes, my mission is to empower moms to reconnect with themselves, feel confident in their journey, and have the support they need along the way.

At The Whole Mom, we focus on you—your mental health, your identity, and your personal growth—because when a mom feels whole, everything else falls into place.

I’m so glad you’re here, and I want you to know you are not alone. Whether you’re seeking support, guidance, or simply a safe space to be seen we are here for you.

I use my podcast as a platform to shed light on many topics associated with motherhood that people don't always want to talk about.  I keep my episodes light, and motivating, and add a flair of humor and kindness so that my listeners feel as though they are sitting in a session with me.  I usually release discount codes for services in these episodes, especially when I believe a topic will resonate with women to the point they may want to explore the topic more in a session.

The episodes are short and sweet, designed to be listened to in the car, on a short walk, in the middle of the night when you are up thinking about the next day, or feeding and tending to a colicky baby (see my episode list).  Click the button below to listen or search for me on ITunes, and be sure to subscribe to the site so you can be alerted of new episodes and special offers to all subscribers.
